Jolie Chea has been named STAR Student for the 2024-2025 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC), sponsor of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program.
The purpose of the STAR program is to recognize outstanding students and teachers in Mississippi through its Education Celebration. Each STAR Student is asked to designate a STAR Teacher, the teacher who has made the greatest contribution to the student’s scholastic achievement. Ms. Cowanda Barnes was designated as STAR Teacher.
Jolie has achieved a 32 ACT score!

The Marshall County School District will be open and operating on a normal schedule Friday, February 21, 2025.
Due to road conditions in many areas of the district, Marshall County Schools will be closed Thursday, February 20, 2025. We realize that many of the roads have cleared, but the safety of our students and staff are the number one priority.
Due to the strong possibility of inclement weather, the Marshall County School District will be closed Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Due to an ongoing situation involving the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the 2500 block of Hwy 309 South is currently shut down in both directions. This will impact bus pickup and student arrival in these areas of the Byhalia community.
