Child Nutrition Announcement
The Marshall County School District will participate in the USDA’s National School Lunch Program-Seamless Summer Option (SSO) for the duration of the 2021-2022 school year. The SSO Program will allow the Marshall County School District to continue provide free meals to all students; therefore, parents/students are not required to complete a meal application. The SSO Option promotes the nutrition standards of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs. The meal patterns include a strong emphasis on providing fruits, vegetables, milk and whole grains.
NUTRITION is a cornerstone for learning and the Marshall County School District is proud to participate in this program to ensure the nutritional needs of every child is fulfilled. Healthy meals will allow our students to attain their greatest educational potential.
In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA. The mission of the Mississippi school library media centers is to assist in providing a quality education for every child and to encourage lifelong literacy and learning through reading. Library media centers provide an environment in which students and staff learn to access, evaluate and apply information using a variety of print and electronic formats. The library media center supports the school’s curriculum and assists members of the learning community in becoming effective users of information.
